Wyoming Firearms Academy

Welcome to Wyoming Firearms Academy located in beautiful Sheridan, Wyoming.
Wyoming Firearms Academy (WFA) specializes in promoting firearm safety and excellence in instruction for all individuals. From the novice gun owner desiring to learn how to operate their firearm properly to the advanced user desiring to hone their skills. In today's society, it is likely that you or someone you know will be required to protect themselves or their family.
WFA training is designed around the reality that we will be reacting to an aggressor in the event of a life threatening encounter. Thus, reflexive gunhandling, combat marksmanship, and proper mindset (Training Triad) are paramount in winning a confrontation. While these skills are critical, our focus is always on Awareness, Avoidance, and De-escalation.
WFA offers courses in defensive weapons training including handguns, (both semi-autos and revolvers), shotguns, urban rifle, and other weapons systems.
WFA's mission is to provide you, the student, excellence in firearms training. Your training will be conducted in a professional and cordial atmosphere with an absolute focus on safety. Your skill-building will lead to both confidence and competence with the firearms system of your choice.
Wyoming Firearms Academy conducts classes at the Sheridan County Sportsman's Shooting Complex, located approximately 4 miles west of Sheridan and T&T Guns and Ammo in Gillette, Wyoming. A typical 2 day class such as Handgun 1 consists of 2 full days (16 hours) of range time. WFA also offers an 8 hour Concealed Carry (CCW)/Personal Defense class, and a Women's Handgun 1 which is a full range day of shooting. Individual instruction is available for those whose schedule just doesn't fit a weekend class.
